North Piddle (and elsewhere)

Interesting story from NYT about towns with unusual names in the UK.  (London? Who came up with that one?)  The US has it’s share of odd names, too, but we’ll reserve those for a future post.

Of course, you could be doomed to live on this byway:

Before you blow snot all over your keyboard, note that in the UK, Australia and some other regions, receptacles for collecting rainwater are referred to as “butts.”

If you want to run your butt water to another location, you might need a butt pump.  If your butt water isn’t flushed out occasionally, algae might grow in it, and then you’d need to clean your butt to prevent clogs, and nobody wants a clog in their butt.
