rambl– It’s a clever caricature of Patrick McGoohan as “The Prisoner.” The blob in the back was known off-screen as “Rover.” Here’s the show’s great opening theme:
nursem– I watched it when I was a kid, too. It was so paranoid and spooky, and it wasn’t until decades later before I found out that I wasn’t the only one who saw it.
what was the idea? should it be funny? lol! i can not find anything at this picture which would be connected with humour. well… maybe i just do not understand something…
I remember seeing a few episodes as a kid and finally watched the whole series a few years ago.
That is a weird series … good … but weird.
The final episode was exceptionally weird.
plane– They were all strange, especially the ones when No.6 would almost escape, except for a moral or ethical dilemma that would make him decide to turn back. 26 Episodes as I recall, and one of them, “The Tower of Big Ben,” I think, had two versions due to censorship concerns. Most, if not all, of the episodes can be found on the Utoobage. I’ll have to hunt that last one down.

That was one of my favorite shows. I love how they incorporated his earlier Danger Man/Secret Agent shows in the opening.

warlo– In answer to your questions, the idea was a caricature, and yes it should.
cbull– Totally missed the reference to Danger Man in the opening.
