Courtney Mahon, you are completely wrong on both counts. Now go back to studying Algebra, you math wiz vixen, you!

This actually happened to my cat (long since died of old age) many long years ago. He was a feral orange cat that I used to feed on the porch and house in my basement. I’d let him outside whenever he liked; he wouldn’t go into the rest of the house because he didn’t like being around the other cats I had at that time.

One time, there was a GIGANTIC possum on the front porch, eating out of my cat’s bowl. He had the sense not to challenge the possum, but I could see from his body language just how disgusted he was. So I just put out a second bowl for my cat.

1389AD– Funny how cats steer clear of possums, even smaller juveniles. The cats get pissed, and the possum doesn’t even waste the time to flip them off.

  5. 1389AD Says:

That particular cat did regularly eat young possums. But then, he was a particularly strong and tough cat. Even when he was 17 years old, he could run up the side of a tree trunk.

1389AD– OT, would you mind doing The Blogmocracy OOT on Saturday 18 Sept? We’re gonna drive Bunkessa up to school and I don’t know that we’ll be back in time. I’ll let M know.

  7. JeremyR Says:

Regularly get to ventilate possums arround here. 1005 of kansas redneck possums agree that 9 lives is the stuff to die for.

  8. Bunk Strutts Says:

Jeremy– Possums are good news around here. They clean up the cat crap, eat snails and slugs. We used to have snails leaping across the lawn after watering it until the possums showed up. If you’re pluggin’ ’em, you better be eatin’ ’em.
