Gonna Turn It On Wind It Up Blow It Out GTFO

Nobody ever goes Full Fart.

[Psst: It’s a speed control gauge from a Swedish steam locomotive. Found here via here. And yeah, the title is a reference to this.]

I’d almost be willing to bet that this is an engine order telegraph from a ship and not from a locomotive. Not withstanding the language it sure looks like every engine order telegraph that I saw while I was sailing.

Randy– Find me some proof and I’ll shame people.

I kinda give up. I couldn’t find anything that proves or disproves that the picture pertains to a Swedish train engine order telegraph. There’s a lot of pictures that show Swedish ship telegraphs with English, including on the Lyth website, but nothing with the labels shown in the above photo. Also, who in the hell is the train engineer signaling-himself? Anyway, I used to like standing on the bridge and messing with the telegraph just to see if the engine room was awake.
