Raccoon Sitter?

“A Texas man stepped outside at dawn and found his recently rescued raccoon beside one of his kangaroos—with her newborn baby. The raccoon had given birth just days earlier and seemed overwhelmed, repeatedly trying to place her baby near the kangaroo’s pouch as if she wanted another mother to take over. The owner quickly recorded the strange scene before safely retrieving the baby. Both animals were fine, but the kangaroo looked completely confused by the unexpected responsibility. The owner joked, ‘I guess motherhood was stressing her out, and she picked the first mom she trusted.’”

There’s no confirmation of the story in any new outlet to date despite the photo and story going viral on social media. No specific location or name of the “Texas man” was found by Grok. On the other hand, the photos were confirmed genuine by HIVE, a reliable (but not infallible) AI detection tool.

BTW, that’s not a “newborn” and I have trouble believing that a raccoon would trust another species to babysit for her little one. The “wtf” gesture of the kangaroo is also suspect. If anyone has a link to an MSM story, let me know. Meanwhile I’m calling it fake.

Crimean ‘Coon

Translated from Bulgarian via Google Translate:
“The largest miniature park is located in a picturesque place of Bakhchisaray in Crimea.
The area occupied by the park is 2.5 hectares, and the ‘Miniture Crimea’ includes 57 main architectural and historically important monuments. All objects are represented in a 1:25 scale. There is also a zoo on the territory of the park, see in the photos of ‘Reuters’ how the animals are having fun.”
