Raccoon Sitter?

“A Texas man stepped outside at dawn and found his recently rescued raccoon beside one of his kangaroos—with her newborn baby. The raccoon had given birth just days earlier and seemed overwhelmed, repeatedly trying to place her baby near the kangaroo’s pouch as if she wanted another mother to take over. The owner quickly recorded the strange scene before safely retrieving the baby. Both animals were fine, but the kangaroo looked completely confused by the unexpected responsibility. The owner joked, ‘I guess motherhood was stressing her out, and she picked the first mom she trusted.’”

There’s no confirmation of the story in any new outlet to date despite the photo and story going viral on social media. No specific location or name of the “Texas man” was found by Grok. On the other hand, the photos were confirmed genuine by HIVE, a reliable (but not infallible) AI detection tool.

BTW, that’s not a “newborn” and I have trouble believing that a raccoon would trust another species to babysit for her little one. The “wtf” gesture of the kangaroo is also suspect. If anyone has a link to an MSM story, let me know. Meanwhile I’m calling it fake.

Nothing Much Happened Today.

Yeah, I know it went viral yesterday, but so what. That’s the first time I saw it (and I reposted it just like everyone else did, except at least I linked my sources). Besides that, it’s still an awesome pic.

When I was a teenager I witnessed a “small” tornado that passed about a mile or so away from our house. Hail was raining down, sky was black with clear orange sky underneath, the funnel was a churning slow-moving mass of brown with no distinct edges. Next thing I recall is my dad grabbing me by the collar and throwing me into the basement where we hunkered down and listened to the static on the AM transistor radio.

The following day I drove to the neighborhood that took the hit. One side of the road was untouched, but the other was all splinters.

Oh, and this viral video of 7D dinosaurs in a mall in Dubai? It’s true, but the description is false.  It’s a video of a 3D animation overlay on a 2D screen filmed in a mall in Bahrain, not holograms. Still cool, though. (One of the more brilliant comments on the Utoobage: “I couldn’t believe this is even exist. Shouldn’t be 6d? Up down left right back and front? Where did the seventh dimension come from?”)

The Audacity of Dopes. This amused me.

THIS douchebag was pantsed by THIS class act.
