Trivia: Sluggo had a dual role in Ernie Bushmiller‘s “Nancy” comics. He played himself as well as Nancy’s Aunt Fritzi.

Leeuna– Snopes is one of the best de-bunking (gawd I hate that term) sites around, even though there’s a slight slant to the reporting. To her credit, Barbara M. provides backup links to everything she posts.

I remember Ken Nordine! That was about a thousand years ago. I’m glad to hear he’s still going strong.
I also remember the Curta. I almost bought one a long time ago – but it was a little pricey – somewhere around $100.

ZZMike– I discovered Ken Nordine in college. WKSU would play selections from “Word Jazz” in the early morning hours. Great stuff.

Is there some reason sluggo is wearing the flesh of a woman’s face on his face? Did he become a serial killer somewhere along the way in the “Nancy” comics?

Rob– Way back then the comics were on a tight budget. Sluggo had a dual role as Nancy’s Aunt Fritzi, and Nancy doubled for most of the others in the strip.
[Whoop! Looks like I already explained that one at the top of the post!]
