I’ve been trying to get around to learning “I Got It From Agnes” on my ukulele; I’ve been singing it for years.
Stephen Green (the Vodkapundit) once told me that I was doing fatherhood correctly, because my daughter could sing along with Tom Lehrer.

Although I’m familiar with Lehrer’s stuff, I didn’t run across that particular song until recently. Kind of appropriate for the times, and Vodkapundit’s assessment was correct.

Well, that was one of only a few songs that the record company wouldn’t let him put on an album. His original LPs were released sometime in the 1950s, I believe, and the days of “banned in Boston” lasted until the late 1960s or so. My Tom Lehrer LPs were reissues from the 1970s, IIRC.
