Those shell patterns must serve some purpose, otherwise they’d look like mud.

I must get up & tend to my box turtles. Have a few Eastern, several Florida, a bunch of Gulf Coast & a handful of Three toes. Around 30 babies of them that just hatched that have to be started on worm’s. The best part having them is their shell other than that they don’t make very good pets.

A genuine turtle farmer! With a herd! Probably takes days to bring them in from the field.
