Fixed it with brute force.

WordPress doesn’t want us to have Blogrolls anymore, I can’t even find the original Blogroll widget. The new and improved one only allows WordPress sites. They’ve changed everything so the only choice we have left is use the Reader. Even the RSS Widget is gone, and that blue “Follow” button in your sidebar is useless now. Did you modify your Blogroll recently? If so, how?

WP deleted the blogroll plug-in, but it didn’t delete the Links archive. I couldn’t import the archive into a block directly, so I created a List widget and added them one-by-one, each with embedded hyperlinks. Kind of a pain, but it seems to work. FWP.

Dunno what to do about the “Follow” button.
My trouble began when I went to delete and replace an image in the sidebar and found that the old widget editor (the one that was simple, intuitive and worked) was no more. The blogroll vanished when I updated the sidebar.
