The “Desert Bus” reminds me of my recent cross-country epic…Michigan to British Columbia in five days. The roads in Wyoming look something like that .gif…

Necro– Haven’t had a long roadtrip in years. Those long straight routes can get dangerously tiring, so whenever I could I’d stay off the interstate and run the state routes instead. You find lots of interesting little towns that way, and you get to turn the wheel occasionally.

In northeastern Wyoming, the interstate is the only road. There are exits on the I-90 up there that are 15 MPH, 90 degree turns onto dirt roads that lead off toward some random ranch. There are cattle grates as you enter and exit the highway. You would need a horse to travel the “state routes” (c.f. “The Bozeman Trail”)…

Necro– You would love a roadtrip into the Mojave. Head for Ballarat. Do it in early spring when the cacti and succulents start belching. Very pretty terrain, but watch out for the Alluvial Fans.
