Saturday Matinee – Santigold, Ленинград & Rod Piazza

by

Santigold’s “Lights Out” vid has some cool retro patterns.

Great WTF video: Ленинград — Рыба. Russian/Punk/Dixieland by a band named Leningrad, titled “Fish Of My Dreams.” English lyrics translation here. [h/t Bunkessa].

Hot Rod Piazza.

With that, we’re out for the weekend. Have a great weekend, folks. See you tomorrow.

I like that Russian one. Lots of fun. The Santigold one is a nice song, and you’re right about the backgrounds. Reminds me of the days of Op Art and Pop Art. The last one seems like a fairly standard uptempo blues, but I almost didn’t get that far into it because the intro bothered me.

Wheels– Rod Piazza’s been a SoCal staple for years. Screw the intros. Bunkarina also sent me this link. It’s Russki SKa.
