New Orleans is a trip during the off-season, but Mardi Gras is something everyone should do at least once. I’ve met my quota.

I’ve been watching those for the past few nights – they get interesting in the wee-hours of the morning with the stragglers, drunks and stumblebums, and at 5am the street sweepers come. Tonight will be different when everyone gets swept out at midnight.

Wow- midnight? Sounds kind of early- but I assume the bars are still open.

I’m not sure of the schedule. At some point the mounted police ride through followed by the street crews.
