From the album Autobahn, Comet Melody 2 was released in August 1975, and was named after the appearance of Comet Kohoutek in March 1973. An earlier version of the song, Kohoutek-Kometenmelodie was released in December 1973.

The intentional and blatant ignoring of devastation and dire circumstances in Appalachia from Hurricane Helene is astounding.
Many communities remain isolated with little or no disaster relief from state government; the heroic efforts of locals supporting one another and maintaining civility is impressive at least. That charities are doing what they can, and that the electric companies are sharing the burden among themselves is another story of human kindness and cooperation.
Had that damage happened and isolation remained in an urban area there would be both widespread violence and a blanket of coverage over the human life and security loss. The whole story remains to be written; full recovery may never be possible.

Dan– I’m seeing on Xwitter reports that there are a lot of pictures & videos of the destruction that haven’t made it out of Appalachia due to lack of access and cell phone service. They’re beginning to trickle out, and the ones I’ve seen are horrific.

The devastation is being reported in many news outlets.including the Main Stream Media. Some rural areas still lack power and satellite communications and/or are physically inaccessible, so reports from some regions may be sparse. I disagree that they are being ignored. The area of destruction is enormous.
