Just rediscovered this 2008 Russian compilation of animations done with Post-It Notes (by Andrey Bakhurin).
“Welcome to ‘Trombone Talk’ and today’s guest is Stephen Walker (I call him Steve). He is one of my old friend since I’ve been here, we used to hang around at the YUKI Izakaya on Frenchmen Street (they closed down in October 2016), and yes, great Trombone player.”
Haruka Kikuchi has earned the title of Queen of the Tailgate Trombone.
One of the prettiest songs ever written.
R.I.P. Michael Nesmith.
Hope y’all have a great weekend and we’ll be here all day tomorrow.
It’s a shame to see Mike Nesmith join the choir invisible. Only one left now until they get the band back together. They all seemed like pretty nice guys. I wasn’t a huge fan, but they did have some pretty good tunes that I liked and still enjoy hearing them. Nice stuff from a gentler time. On the other hand, my sister was nuts about them. She had every album and never missed the show. I guess that it was geared more to teenyboppers. RIP, Mike……..

As cheesy as their TV show was, the music was pretty good. Yeah, all the girls loved Davy Jones, but Nesmith stood out for me. Frank Zappa gave the Monkees kudos for being the first to put out music videos.
