 The Nite-Liters were formed in 1963 in Louisville, Kentucky by Tony Churchill and Harvey Fuqua.  After recording two albums in the early 1970s, the group morphed into the 17-piece ensemble New Birth.

  1. Harvey Fuqua had a hit here in the Steel City called “Any Way You Wanta” back in the early sixties. It probably never charted anywhere else. That’s one of the songs that I would play when I’d dee jay Pittsburgh Oldies Nights at the lodge. Our favorite oldies here are kind of unique to SW PA……

    1. Holy Vitamin I we got DJ Yinzer inda hass!
      I only vaguely remember that song, but didn’t realize Fuqua did it. I’m more familiar with his earlier R&B vocals with the Moonglows.

      There were some great bands that originated in the Pittsburgh / Youngstown / Cleveland region that never received the national recognition they deserved.
