According to THIS excellent source, Germany “Liberty” Schaefer stole 2nd base, and then stole 1st. He attempted to steal 2nd again on the next pitch.
Perfectly legal in 1911 Baseball.

7 December 1941. Remember Always.

Although Japan is no longer our enemy, there are others willing to do it again. Is our government’s new administration willing to accept this probability, or are they going to ignore the odds and wait until history repeats itself?
Hambone is the traditional folk music consisting of rhythms produced by slapping oneself and making noises without singing. It traces its history to the pre-civil war South, and was probably introduced by west african slaves. Regardless of your musical tastes, Hambone is harder than it looks. Try it yousef and you’ll see.
The Hambone Brothers showed up occasionally on the long running TV show, “HeeHaw.” The guy on the left was cool, but the guy on the right always creeped me out.
[Presurfer reminded me about ’em. Honest.]
Jeff Holt does Hambone with the always amazing Doc Watson.
Holt and Watson doing “Soldier’s Joy” and “Ragtime Annie.”
Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, with Pete Seeger on banjo. Terry’s breath control and “whoopin'” on harmonica was directly related to Hambone, if you didn’t notice. (Unless I’m mistaken, Sonny and Brownie also had a small cameo on the first Blues Brothers movie.)
And finally, a public service announcement from Plaxico Burress.

What a great toy! Man-o-man this sends me back. What 9-year-old boy could resist a wooly mammoth with wings and don’t-eat-the-yellow-snow tusks, with a pair of, um, snow-covered cookies growing out of its trunk. Japanese marketing is amazing.
The folks from Nippon are amused by us westerners as well. If you ever find yourself among a group of them, all you have to say is “Detroit” and they double over laughing.

No Flintstone jokes please. Okay. Gimme Flinstone jokes anyway.

Some folks take Batman lore very seriously. And why not? There are no laws, at least in this country, that forbid rabid BatFannage. This particular example is very deceiving in that it efficiently transforms the ubiquitous beetle into the ORIGINAL BATMOBILE with relatively little effort. Yeah, mock it all you want, but then compare it with the genuine item that we’ve provided for your viewing pleasure below:

Okay, the bottom image is a model of the 1940’s version, but you can’t deny the awesome resemblance. Therefore, the esteemed panel of judges at TR have voted unanimously to declare the VW Batmobile to be honored as a true and bonafide Babe Magnet.
On the other side of the coin is BatMockage, and here is a prime but innocent example. 7 out of 8 mocked him correctly. The other one is destined to be an online furnace filter consultant.
