Ignorance in motion.

Breeder of hate.  I pity her innocent children.

On Saturday, January 10, 2009, a large rally and march took place in San Francisco to protest Israel’s invasion of Gaza.

Sorry, folks. I couldn’t let this one pass.  This is so horribly pathetic that I won’t even make a joke about her obvious illiteracy.

Fortunately this brand of trash is in the minority in this country…  for now.

[Update:  More young minds were being poisoned at this protest in L.A.]

Dog Meeting

There’s always one who thinks sleeps outside of  the box.  Unlike  CATS.

[Since Feels.ru has begun tagging their images and has gotten a little smuttier recently, I’ve taken them off the blogroll.  I might link to individual posts instead.]

HAY!

I wanna watch ’em unload it.  That’s all I want.

Now, what do Howard Stern, Rush Limbaugh, Kirsty Alley, Rob Zombie, Joe Frazier, the “Amazing Kreskin” and Bunk Strutts all have in common? Continue reading “HAY!”

Future Schlock” by P.J. O’Rourke is worth a read.

How could you miss it?  WEASEL PUKE.

And just in case you missed this, ya gotta see this wormIt pukes itself up.

Speaking of coffee, Rockhoppers has a radio ad.

“We’ve seen just a skyrocketing autism rate.  Some people are suspicious that it’s connected to the vaccines. This person included.” More scientific ignoramuses here.

James Burke’s excellent series “Connections” is required viewing. Here’s Part 3 of Episode 1.  I’d forgotten about the show until Mr. GAB reminded me.

The Ocapellos were the greatest singing group ever if only because Frank Zappa took their song “The Stars” and mooshed it into “Fountain of Love,” recorded as Ruben & the Jets.

Speaking of Frank Zappa, one of his greatest influences was one Edgard Varese.  John M. of Uncertain Times found some great gems and posted them here.

Saturday Matinee: Nana, Pink, Eric & Ma

This video sums up my attitude for the last few weeks. Thank God that there are people like  raincoaster to find and approves gems like this.  Okay. Next.

Pink Floyd was at their best in the early/mid 1970’s, at least until “Animals” came out.  Speaking of Animals…

Eric Burdon was a classic.  What a gloriously depressing  song of frustration and hope against reality and cool chord patterns and stuff. [That was snarkasm.]  Gotta deal with what’s coming down, y’all.

Okay, I could fill up this post with a big ‘ol honkin’ wad of Eric Burdon and the Animals, Eric Burdon & War, but you can easily googoyle them for yourselves.  Lets talk about one of their 1967 hits, “See See Rider” instead.

It was a ripoff of Ma Rainey/others.  C.C. Rider, according to Bunk’s sources, referred to the Chitlin’ Circuit bluesplayers’ route through the south.

Couldn’t find Ma Rainey’s version of C.C. Rider, but here’s this excellent and nasty “Booze & Blues.”

Don’t read too much into this Freudian trainwreck. Been busy this week. (And yeah, that’s really what your mouth looks like when you go “phttttttp.”)

BUNK’S TRIVIA CORNER:  “Click-Clack” was recorded by Dickie Doo and the Dont’s.  Although it sucked donkeys big time, it was their biggest hit, went to #28  in 1958.  They had a minor hit (more recently covered by Bad Manners) “NeNeNaNaNaNaNuNu.”

I think Dickie Doo, aka Gerry Granahan, got arrested for threatening to blow up a bank in Southern California in the 1970’s.  The Brooklyn band was named after Dick Clark’s son’s nickname.  Really.

Oh Yeah! I’m Here! This is Where I Wanna Be!
