The 2012 Lada Wedgie

That’s a Russian Lada Kalina circa 2012, and if that’s not a bollard attack, then maybe a telephone pole lost its brakes, or someone’s boat was speeding or something. No way can a Lada travel that fast.

Photo Restoration

The story behind the picture: Someone posted restored photos on r/interestingasfuck and I made a comment that received no replies or likes, but despite that photo restoration artist u/LadyAkane reached out to me via DM and offered their help.

My comment: “My uncle died way back in 1937, 2 years before my dad was born. He was only 5 years old and my grandparents went through hell all around that time—they lost him to polio, then lost their home and most of their belongings to the Ohio River flood.

Only one photo of him survived—one of him with my grandmother just weeks before he fell ill. [I realized when I took the photo out this was wrong since he’s too young in the pic. I was mixing up illnesses—my grandmother contracted TB shortly after this pic and would spend the next few years in a sanitarium.] We found while going through my dad’s things after he died, but it got put in a back jeans pocket then in the chaos of the time went through the washing machine. It made us all sick to see it so faded.

That little pic has been stashed inside my jewelry box ever since, hoping to find a way to restore it (and for technology to advance to where it could be successfully done) over the last 13+ years.”

“It’s A Colorful Day In The Neigh-Bor-Hood”

Damages could run into hundreds of thousands of dollars.

“He obviously has a drug issue or something going on, [neighbor] Klawans said. “I have just never seen anything like this in my life.”

The Collier County Property Appraiser’s office says the house belongs to 40-year-old Jeffrey Leibman, who neighbors said did the damage over the course of a week.

Meanwhile In The Bear State.

According to Sgt. Dave Hunt, they could not open the vehicle from the outside as the bear apparently locked the doors somehow and broke the handles off.

While trapped inside, the bear apparently ripped the seats apart, tore open the glove compartment and pulled down part of the ceiling. The animal also urinated, defecated and spit all over the destroyed interior, police said. The department called the vehicle “a total loss.”

Police were eventually able to open the rear hatch to let the bear escape, FOX40 reported.

I’ll buy it. I don’t even care what year/make/model it is. The bear damage to that private vehicle is less than what is caused by CalTrans and L.A. Public Works, so tell the vehicle owner to contact me. If it’s roadworthy I’ll buy it. I can handle the smell of bear piss.

I’m serious. =)

It was a bit breezy, and yes, there was a shark attack and a giant bottle opener.

I live here and was here when it happend. Never experienced such wind.
