Imagination Transportation

Things I Have Drawn imagines a world in which the things kids draw are real. What started as a silly little project between dad, Tom, and his 6-year-old son, Dom, soon had Dom’s younger brother, Al, joining in the fun, and more recently has turned into something much much bigger, with parents sending their kid’s drawings in from all over the world.

Springfield’s Finest

In late 2023, graphic designer “Princess_Prompt” threw The Simpsons characters into an AI image generator to see  how well it responded to text prompts:

“I wanted to imagine what a live action series of The Simpsons could look like in the flesh in an ’80s style, the era of their birth. As a fan of The Simpsons and Matt Groening’s work since childhood, I found them to be the ideal subject for experimentation.”

Update: Someone made a trailer!

I call photoshop.

[Found in here.]

UPDATE: The photographer is Sory Sanlé.
“I grew up in a rural area of what is now Burkina Faso, but I moved to Bobo-Dioulasso, the country’s second city, when I was about 17. There was a real buzz about the town. I started taking ID photos, straight-up portraits, for a small fee. With the help of my cousin Idrissa Koné, who was a musician and entrepreneur, I was able to set up a studio called Volta Photo. That’s when it all began.”

Children’s Nightmares Illustrated

Some time ago I ran across a great collection of illustrations by professional illustrators of children’s illustrations of monsters, in a side-by-side format. I was unable to find the original source (possibly somewhere in DRB) for the images below, but here is a link to the site of one of the artists, Dave Devries, who certainly had something to do with the concept. He’s got a great collection of work and related stuff for sale, too.
