Buddy Merrill played for Lawrence Welk‘s Champagne Music Makers for twenty years before he decided he didn’t like playing on camera.
You might not know his name, but you’ve heard his work. Neil LeVang was one of the greatest studio guitar players of all time, played on many TV shows and movie soundtracks. Lawrence Welk hired him when Buddy Merrill was drafted.

Found that tucked away in my home office desk. I think it’s a .50 caliber Browning NATO casing, but I wasn’t smart enough to photo the head stamp before I mailed it off to a veteran friend.
