Silent But Deadly

Unfortunately I was unable to find a copy of the text, but apparently others did. Here are some reviews culled from https://imgur.com/gallery/GJOa1:

“Is this R.L. Stine’s new Goosebumps series?”
“I can’t wait to see the screenplays. I hope they can get JJ Abrams.”
“I hope the movies stay loyal to the books.”
“I’d be willing to bet “Linger” by the Cranberries is on the soundtrack.”
“Guaranteed the 2nd one isn’t as good as the first, it never is.”
“STILL a better love story than Twilight.”
“It’s good, but it’s no Scrotie McBoogerballs.”
“Can’t wait for the 3rd, and the prequel.”
“But who was left to kill in the sequel? Or is it a tale of redemption about the fart coming to terms with its dark past?”
“He’s come back with more of his kind to wipe out all carbon-based life.”
“I prefer the fanfic version where the Fart actually saves the world by defeating the alien invaders.”
“Heeeey this is originally from the Writers’ HQ 60 Minute Novel workshop – can you credit pls? Cheers.”
“Not college, but places…”

Judge The Cover By The Book

Confess your racism, Susie.

Teach your preschooler that skin color matters. Written by a racist for racists, it’s sold in the children’s section at Target.

I debated with myself on whether or not to post this, but then the voice in my head asked, “What are you afraid of?” The voice made a good point, so there it is.

Saturday Matinee – Wagon Train, Tauba Auerbach & Eric Bibb

One of the prettiest theme songs ever, and one of my favorites.
Then the Missus ruined it for me forever by singing this:

Wagons here, wagons there,
There are wagons everywhere;
Some are short, some are long,
And they’re even in this song;

On a ship, on a plane,
You can find them on a train;
This is what we call the Theme to Wagon Train.

Very cool paper sculpture books [via].

How ’bout some country blues? Eric Bibb does it right.

Eric Bibb (vocals, acoustic guitars, baritone guitar, resonator guitar, contra bass guitar, cigar box diddly bow, 6-string banjo & footstomp), Grant Dermody (harmonica), Dirk Powell (fretless banjo, fiddle, mandolin, accordion, upright bass, banjo & harmony vocal), Cedric Watson (fiddles & backing vocals), Danny DeVillier (drums & tambourine), Christine Balfa (cajun triangle).

Aside from the video bloopers and bad cuts, I’d have never guessed so many great ones played on that track.

Have a great weekend, folks, and remember that Memorial Day is not about hot dogs and beer.
