P.S Happy 4th blogoversary to the divine Ms. C.

[Found in this collection of NOMs]
Although he blames others, I blame cbullitt for this. The meme requires the recipient (mwah) to post 10 True Facts about himself/herself (mwah also) and to nominate 10 more suckers. At this rate the entire blogosphere should be covered in a matter of days. So here we go:
1. The Beatles’ “Hard Day’s Night” was the first record I owned, and it was a 45rpm. I liked the B-side better: “I Should’ve Known Better.”
2. Once I played rhythm guitar for a LDS teen dance without knowing all the chord patterns for some of the songs, so I just turned my volume down to -1 and faked it.
3. I understand trigonometry but not calculus.
4. Terry Gilliam’s “Brazil” is one of my favorite movies, as is “The Caine Mutiny” and “Cool Hand Luke.”
5. I’ve read David Kahn’s “The Code Breakers” unabridged version and understood a lot of it.
6. I played the part of “Action” in a high school production of West Side Story, and I was a catlike ball of fury.
7. I was born with heterochromia, but I’ve never suffered because of it.
8. I can use the word “polyisocyanurate” correctly in a spoken sentence without stuttering.
9. My ancestry includes Scottish, Irish, English, German, Swedish and 1600’s Italian royalty. In other words, European Mutt.
10. In the mid-1980s I decided to see how much junk mail was generated from information request postcards from construction industry trade magazines. The result? A LOT. The name I filled in that generated the most unrequested junk mail was… Bunk Strutts.
Now for the hard part. In no particular order:

Cold water, gentle cycle, no bleach, then line dry so they don’t shrink up. Cool iron only, no steam.
Wash them twice a year only, in March and August (it’s not too late for this season), and your hats should last a lifetime.
Better yet, have a ‘Pod Wash Party like we did last week. While the hats were drying, they cooled the patio as well. If you folks have had a ‘Pod Wash recently, post your stories in the comments. (Don’t be shy… just about everybody has at least one tale to tell!)

[FinPeng has had this post sitting around the TR “Almost-Done” file long enough. Back to our credo: “When in doubt, throw it out… there.” I have no idea what he’s talking about, but he’s still a good guy. –Bunk]
Sombrero de llaves el toro se comió mi polvo.
Why, you ask? No, you don’t, but I’ll answer myself!
I get weird sometimes. But I won’t let this post get too out of hand. I’m going to focus on one subject and go with it. Therefore, I’m finding a somewhat uncommon noun from this random word generator. And the word is… “funicular.”
What do you know? It’s a railway that’s on an incline. I was on one of them once. I’m not really sure why I liked it, but I thought it was pretty enjoyable.

(Forgot to put in the picture’s source link on the day I put the picture in. Picture no longer where it was on google image search. If you find the source, that’d be awfully helpful.)
And that’s all I’ve got to say on funiculars.
Why did I make this?
Anyway, the link you should follow is this one.

Folks–
It appears that I got the home computer buzzing efficiently, but I’m still tweaking it, installing necessary programs, uploading updates, downloading downdates, and lashing down the loose ends while adjusting the fuel mix and intake valves. We’re almost there. Meanwhile…
Here’s how I got indirectly sucked into blogging. Neatorama posted a link to a joke contest in 2007 that I couldn’t pass up. Anita Bath asked if I’d like to be a guest poster, and after assisting me with posting for an inordinate amount of time, Anita Bath goaded encouraged me to start my own site. Old news.
So here are the short jokes I submitted. Some are very old, some are credited, some are true, and some I made up. Continue reading “Windows Service Pak 3 and stuff…”
KillaDilla.
Jimmy Jones’ “Handy Man” cracked me up when I was a tad. I remember it as the “Comma Song.”
Del Shannon came a long way from 1961’s “Hats Off To Larry.” This song made it to Number 9 in November 1964.
This is one of the prettiest songs the Stones ever did, not that they were ever known for pretty.
And because my computer has been reborn and hasn’t thrown up in over 24 hours, here’s a repost of the late great Country Dick Montana & the Beat Farmers to sum up my current mental outlook.

[Update: The computer hospital called up today and told me that my Univac was healthy again. I picked up the pup about 3PM, brought him home, combed through the archives for hookup procedures. The good folks at Adam’s Electronics backed up my archives AND programs… on the hard drive.
I don’t know what caused the crash, but I spent all afternoon and evening trying to get it back up and running after a coupla more system crashes.
All my bookmarks are gone, and I haven’t resolved the emailage yet.
It’s now 1:42AM and I’m back online. I’ll be sleeping in tomorrow.]

This was sitting around in the WTF Bin. So we decided to use the time tested TR tenet: When in doubt throw it out… there.
