The great internet aggregator known as StumbleUpon is going away after 16 years. Thanks for all the fun links.

[Top image: My 12-inch 33 rpm vinyl soundtrack from David Lynch’s ERASERHEAD is worth more than my entire collection of Beatles albums, and my unworn copy is apparently worth $100 – $150. I once made a cassette tape to engulf and spook the neighborhood one Halloween, but the Missus complained, so we compromised and I played Tom Waits‘ “Bone Machine” instead. The following year The Missus asked that I not play “Bone Machine,” so I replaced the Neighborhood Halloween Ambiance with Mickey Hart’s Planet Drum, and everyone loved it. TRUE STORY.]

Saturday Matinee – THE Interview, Pro-Bubbles, The Blues Brothers & Junior Wells with Buddy Guy

I love this interview.

Melody Yang is a Professional Bubbler [via].

Yeah, The Blues Brothers gave it a good cover in 1979, but this one is better. Junior Wells with Buddy Guy at the 1974 Montreux Jazz Festival is nothing less than killer.

Here’s Junior Wells’ original version from 1960.

Have a great weekend, folks, see you back here tomorrow whether you like it or not.

Still Life With Dove

Saw a young dove outside our garage late this afternoon. I think it knows how to fly, it just doesn’t seem to see the importance of it yet.

He/she didn’t seem too bothered by my presence, so I went back inside for my camera. Somehow it managed to make an arrangement of river rocks, a plastic colander and a rubber football in an inverted Rubbermaid trash can lid. I decided to take a pic from another angle, and when I downloaded it I found this:

I pity the cats that mess with this bird.
