Saturday Matinee – Terry Miles’ Boogie Woogie, Wrap It Up, Can’t Wrap This, The Magical Piano & Christmas Of Love

Terry Miles finds odd pubs and unusual venues with under-used pianos, then heaves bricks of boogie woogie at the heads of the unsuspecting patrons. I love it.

Wrap It Up: Bonnie Raitt, Brittany Howard, Gary Clark Jr. and Jimmie Vaughan take on the Sam & Dave soul classic. Good gawdamighty.

Christmas Of Love (Little Isidore & The Inquisitors) is one of my favorite holiday songs, and that video makes it all the better.

Christmas Is Clumping

Someone was proud of that lawn decoration, and so was his missus. God bless them, and God bless the Polaroid camera for preserving it for all to enjoy decades later.

From the ICYMI Department:
Porch Package Theft Payback is brilliant.

The Best Christmas Song Collection ever IMO.

If that’s not The Best Christmas Song Collection ever, THIS IS.

It’s not officially Christmas until I hear this version of Leroy Anderson’s 1946 classic.

From the Fun Facts To Know And Tell Department:
The song “Christmas Is My Time Of Year” was originally recorded in 1968 by the one-off supergroup “The Christmas Spirit” which included members of The Turtles (including Flo & Eddie), The Byrds and Linda Ronstadt. In 1976, an even sappier version was recorded and released by We Three Monkees.

[Top Image: I want to believe that’s a gourd. I really do, but it creeps me right out. These Christmas Tchotckes are very nicely done, but they would have given me nightmares when I was little [via].]

Saturday Matinee – Christmas According To Kids

This is what happens when you ask a bunch of little kids to tell the story of Christmas with adult cameo actors. [Found here. Those below were found by U-Toobage association, and they’re entirely awesome..]

May God bless the innocents.

I wonder what would happen if you asked a bunch of grown-ups…
