Elephractals

SHANGHAI, June 8 2021 (Reuters) – A roaming herd of 15 wild elephants is on the move again after resting for a day in a patch of forest on the outskirts of the city of Kunming in southwest China, resuming a year-long, 500-kilometre trek that has captured the public’s imagination.

Drone photographs taken on Monday by the provincial forest fire brigade showed members of the herd sleeping in a clearing in the middle of a forest in the district of Jinning, which has been hit by heavy rain and thunderstorms.

Real Wild Child, Jerry Allison & Buddy Holly (1958) The Crickets had toured Australia in February 1958 and recorded the cover with drummer Jerry Ivan Allison singing lead. The song was partly a tribute to Australian Johnny O’Keefe, who wrote the original titled The Wild One.

Saturday Matinee – The Dixie Hummingbirds, A1 Hundo & The Brothers Comatose

The Dixie Hummingbirds on Jubilee Showcase in 1964. James Walker on lead vocals. Formed in 1928, and with changing lineups, they have performed for over 90 years.

A1 Hundo resurrects the grooves of Booker T. & The MG’s. Hard to find anything about the band.

The Brothers Comatose did a happy doomsday song.

Gotta go, but we’ll be back tomorrow. Have a great weekend.

Saturday Matinee – Little Charlie & The Nightcats, Justin Johnson & Altered Five Blues Band

Little Charlie & The Nightcats featured Rick Estrin on harp.

Justin Johnson cranked it up, floored it and blew the doors off. One of the greatest slide players around.

Altered Five Blues Band powers it up and flips the switch.

Kinda ran out of time (and steam) tonight, so I’ll make it short.
